The BBC Pembroke has been selected by members of the Pembroke Chamber of Commerce as the Business Member of the Year.
A donated gift card or a crowd-sized portion of food; the offer of a function room to host a fundraiser or providing money to support a local cause: These are things that so many Pembroke businesses do all year long to assist our community. From the day we opened the doors of our Pembroke pub more than 11 years ago, we have been warmly welcomed by both the residents and our fellow businesses of this place we call home. We’ve been made to feel like we’re part of a genuine community.
When you’re part of a community, you care for each other. So when a gift card is requested to be auctioned off to support someone in need, we don’t think twice about it; we just do it. And when the community comes together to host a fundraiser for a family facing a difficult time, providing a room – or food, or funds – seems like such a small thing to do when one of neighbors is dealing with a crisis. Like so many other businesses in Pembroke, we consider it an honor to assist whenever, and however, needed.
Because we are surrounded by a group of people and businesses who all give so generously to support our town, we at the BBC were so surprised, and very much honored, to have been chosen by the members of the Pembroke Chamber of Commerce as the Business Member of the Year.
Our thanks to everyone for recognizing our efforts with such a prestigious award. We are humbled. And we look forward to thanking everyone personally when we gather together for the Business Member of the Year dinner at Pembroke Country Club on November 15th.
Such kind words from our fellow chamber members:
“They work with the local schools and youth groups to sponsor teams and make donations to events several times yearly. They are willing to host charity fundraisers for the community, as well as hosting chamber meetings, whenever needed.”
“The BBC supports various charities, i.e. Jimmy Fund and Pembroke Food Pantry and are always willing to support the local fundraisers and give to participants raising money for the Boston Marathon and the PMC.”
“The BBC is well known on the South Shore as a generous contributor to several fundraising efforts.”
